Any recommendations for a good Sunday lunch in or around Abergavenny? Quality of the Yorkshire pudding is important!!!

I highly recommend The Vine Tree, which is on the Abergavenny side of Crickhowell, just over the bridge from the town centre.

I've been eating there for 20 years and the food is consistently very good. The Sunday lunch is £8.95 (£9.95 for vegetarians) for one course. It is almost always excellent and while I can't vouch for the quality of the Yorkshire pudding, being a veggie, my husband says it's great.

Other good places in the area are The Hobby Horse in Brynmawr (amazingly cheap, but still very good) - you usually have to book a week in advance; and The Jolly Collier's in Llanelly Hill, also very good value and with a delicous Yorkshire pudding - that one I have tried!

Bon appetit!
