The Blorenge mountain, overlooking Abergavenny, is one of the best handgliding and paragliding sites in Britain. On most Sunday afternoons the sky above the mountain is full of people soaring through the skies. There are also many good sites in the area for training beginners, and there is a training centre based in the town.

Peter Duncan, from the television program Duncan Dares and of Blue Peter fame, flew off the top of the Blorenge in a handglider for one of his challenges.
The Blorenge site is owned by the SE Wales Handgliding and Paragliding club - for information about
access, take-off and landing tips (eg how to avoid the dual carriage way,
trees, canal, river and electricity pylons on the way down!), please visit the the Blorenge page on their site.
